Buying, installing and first login

What you receive when you buy #

After paying (card; BLIK and Przelewy24 for PLN) you receive an e-mail from biuro@nob.holapolska.pl with:

  • your license key, in the form NOB-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX;
  • a download link for the latest package (nob-<version>.zip);
  • a link to your private license portal, where you can download versions, renew updates, manage domains and download invoices;
  • the invoice for the purchase (PDF).

The license is perpetual for one domain, includes 12 months of updates and 30 days of e-mail support for usage questions, and is covered by a 30-day money-back guarantee. Your downloaded package is personalised: it contains nob/COMPRADOR.txt with your key and e-mail, signed. Keep the package private; redistributing it breaches the license and is traceable.

The installer checks all of this for you before anything is written.

Uploading the package #

The zip contains two folders:

  • nob/ — the application. Upload it outside the web root, next to public_html/ (for example /home/youruser/nob/). Nothing inside it is ever served directly.
  • public_html/ — the public entry point: index.php, .htaccess and assets/. Upload its contents into your domain's web root.

NOB will create a third folder, nob_data/, next to nob/ for your configuration, documents, backups and logs. Your data never lives inside the web root.

Tip If your host puts the web root somewhere other than a sibling public_html/, that is fine: index.php finds nob/ with ../nob/, so keep nob/ one level above the web root.

The installer #

Open your domain. Because there is no configuration yet, NOB shows the installer in six languages:

  1. Server — a green/red list of requirements. Fix red items with your hosting provider before continuing.
  2. Database — host (usually localhost), database name, user and password. NOB tests the connection and refuses a database that already holds another application's tables.
  3. Administrator — your name, login, e-mail, a password of at least 12 characters, and the interface language.
  4. License — paste your key. It is activated for this domain. You may leave it empty and activate later (you have 14 days).
  5. Done — NOB shows the two cron lines to add in your hosting panel (cPanel → Cron Jobs). Without them NOB works, but documents are not processed in the background and nothing runs at night.

The installer writes nob_data/config.php (secret keys, database credentials, paths), creates all tables, loads the 117 tax rules and the legal sources, and creates your administrator account.

First login and two-factor authentication #

Log in at https://your-domain/login. On the first visit you land in the onboarding (next chapter). Before anything else, open your name in the bottom-left corner → My access and:

  • enable two-factor authentication (TOTP). Scan the code or type the secret into Google Authenticator, Aegis, 1Password or similar. From then on, login asks for a 6-digit code;
  • change the password if you set a temporary one.

Cron: the two scheduled tasks #

Every 5 minutes NOB processes the queue: reading uploaded documents, indexing, translations, vectorisation of the legal corpus. At 02:00 it downloads exchange rates (NBP), regenerates obligations, refreshes supplier checks against the biała lista, posts depreciation, runs the auditor, checks for expiring records, revalidates your license, checks for updates (and installs them if allowed), refreshes the legal corpus weekly, and makes a full backup.

Languages #

Each user chooses their language in My access or with the selector at the bottom of the side menu. Documents you send to clients (quotes, invoices) have their own language, chosen per client or per quote.

Uninstalling #

Delete the cron tasks, the nob/ folder and the web root files, and drop the database. nob_data/ holds your documents and backups: keep or export it first (see Security, privacy and data).
